ROOTs Transition in Park City, UT seeks a Direct Support Professional to provide day-to-day supervision and trauma-informed care within a residential setting for adolescents aged 15–18.

Qualifications

• Experience in behavioral health and/or residential treatment.
• Undergraduate degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience with trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and related behavioral health practices.

Company Description ROOTs Transition is a residential treatment center in Park City, UT that supports adolescents assigned female at birth, ages 15–18, who have experienced complex trauma. The organization’s mission is to foster healing through agency, curiosity, and community, using nature as a catalyst for growth and integration. Students receive clinical assessments to identify individual strengths and needs, allowing for tailored support and programming. ROOTs Transition emphasizes daily practice of skills learned in nature within a home‑like setting, helping students maintain meaningful connections and meet their needs at different stages of their journey.

Role Description This is a full‑time or part‑time, on‑site role based in Park City, UT. The Direct Support Professional will provide day‑to‑day support and supervision to adolescents in a residential setting, ensuring safety, emotional well‑being, and consistent therapeutic engagement. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, reinforcing treatment plans, modeling healthy coping skills, and supporting students in practicing skills learned in nature and clinical sessions. The role involves building trusting relationships, facilitating structured and unstructured activities, accurate documentation of observations and incidents, and collaborating with clinical and residential staff to maintain a stable, trauma‑informed environment. The Direct Support Professional will also participate in training, team meetings, and ongoing professional development to continuously improve quality of care.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in behavioral health and/or residential treatment
• Undergraduate degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related field
• Experience working with adolescents
• Experience with trauma‑informed care, crisis intervention, and/or behavioral therapy
• First Aid/CPR certification

Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong work ethic and reliability.
• Valid driver’s license.
• High School Diploma (or equivalent)
• Ability to pass a background check.
