QMS Consulting (QMS) is a women-owned Information Technology (IT) and Engineering Consulting firm supporting aerospace, defense, cybersecurity, cloud, and advanced technology programs. We seek a seasoned GNC Architect to expand our elite Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) Architecture Practice.

About the Role

We seek accomplished technical professionals who want to design innovative solutions, mentor

future engineers and transform ideas into operational capabilities. Candidates may be hired at

Architect I, II, III, or IV based on demonstrated technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop GNC architectures for aerospace and space systems.
• Design guidance, navigation, estimation, and control solutions.
• Perform modeling, simulation, Monte Carlo analysis, verification, validation, and HIL testing.
• Support mission analysis, launch integration, and operational support.
• Investigate anomalies and recommend corrective actions.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
• Architect I (6–10 years): Independent technical contributor leading subsystem architecture.
• Architect II (10–15 years): Leads multidisciplinary engineering efforts and mentors junior architects.
• Architect III (15–20 years): Technical authority for major mission elements and customer.
• Architect IV (20+ years): Enterprise technical leader providing strategic architecture guidance.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Demonstrated experience with MATLAB/Simulink, Python and/or C++.
• Demonstrated experience with modeling, simulation, verification, systems integration, and mission analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with aerospace, space, or defense programs such as satellite systems, launch vehicles, missile defense platforms (e.g. AEGIS, THAAD, Patriot), hypersonic systems, spacecraft operations, or related mission-critical technologies. These examples are illustrative and not required.

Security Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship may be required. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance. Active Secret or higher clearance is highly desirable.
