Santa Maria-Bonita School District is seeking certificated substitutes to join our classroom teams. The role supports general education and special education assignments as needed, with assignment details managed through Frontline Absence Management.
Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree or be enrolled in a degree program and be eligible for a 30 Day Emergency Substitute Teaching Permit or a Substitute Teaching Permit for Prospective Teachers; references and a resume are required.
Upon hire we will assist with the substitute permit application process.

1-10 days and/or non-consecutive days
* Long Term Rate: 11+ Consecutive days in the same class/assignment
**Long Term Special Ed. Rate: Applicable Special Education Credential required for assignments lasting more than 10 days in the same class/assignment
Certificated Substitutes will receive the following service stipend for cumulative number of days served substituting for SMBSD:
$750 service stipend triggered at 20, 40, 60, 80, 100, 120, 140 and 160 days*
A total of $6,000 in service stipend are available over the course of the 25-26school year.
-Payments will be provided as an "Add-On" after days of service noted. This pay may be distributed a month or two after your 20th day is worked-*Please note 2 half days equals one full day credit. One half day will not be considered a full day credit*

The substitute calling service (Frontline:Absence Management) is managed through Santa Maria-Bonita School District. Substitutes receive jobs by way of an automated/online system (Frontline).
