Guest Services Representative - Best Western Plus

The GSR is responsible for assisting guests with check-in and check-out, answering and processing all phone calls received, and handling all special requests for services or information, in accordance with standard policies and procedures.

Job Description

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, regardless of busyness or time of day.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of hotel features, services, room types, rates, and daily operations.
  • Obtain assigned bank and ensure accuracy of contracted monies, keeping the bank secure.
  • Answer department telephone within 3 rings, using correct greeting and etiquette.
  • Process all guest check-ins and check-outs, verifying registration information and handling payments.
  • Assist guests with luggage, handle overbooked or walk-in guests, and record wake-up call requests.
  • Monitor, send, and distribute guest faxes, and communicate guest information to relevant departments.
  • Resolve discrepancies on room status reports and process adjustments and charges.
  • Attend departmental meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Contribute to a positive hotel culture and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • One to two years of experience in a similar role.
  • Basic computer skills; PMS experience preferred (Opera, Visual Matrix, OnQ, etc.).
  • Valid driver’s license for valet duties as needed.
