Job summary

Legacy Healthcare in Northbrook, IL is seeking a dedicated housekeeping professional to clean guest rooms, offices and common areas, operate cleaning equipment, and perform high-area cleaning tasks. The role includes ensuring infection control, safety, and pleasant guest interactions while supporting admissions and room transfers.

You will participate in meetings, assist with training of new staff, and respond promptly to guest call lights, contributing to a caring, clean hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean guest rooms, offices, hallways and other areas inside facility and surrounding property.
• Operate floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, snow blowers and related equipment.
• Clean vents, fixtures, top of windows, doorframes and other high areas using a ladder.
• Perform terminal cleaning of guest rooms and prepare rooms for new occupants; follow isolation cleaning procedures.
• Maintain infection control and standard precautions at all times; follow safety practices when using equipment.
• Report hazardous conditions, damaged equipment and supply issues to supervisor.
• Maintain guest comfort, privacy and dignity; interact warmly and respectfully with guests.
• Answer call lights promptly and courteously in guest care areas.
• Assist with new admissions, re-admissions and transfer of guests between rooms.
• Assist with training of new staff.
• Communicate effectively with guests, visitors, families, peers and supervisors.
• Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services as directed.
