Job summary

Shamin Hotels is seeking an entry-level Housekeeper in Suffolk, VA to clean guest rooms, hallways, and common areas. Responsibilities include making beds, replenishing supplies, dusting, vacuuming, and adhering to safety and company policies. The role requires reliable, detail-oriented individuals able to work day shifts with punctual attendance.

The position offers hourly pay ($14.00–$15.00) and benefits for eligible associates, with a focus on service quality and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent experience preferred.
• Hotel housekeeping experience preferred.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Experience with hotel brand systems preferred.
• Customer service skills required.
• Prioritization and time management skills required.
• Able to work quickly without compromising quality.
• Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Make beds.
• Replenishes supplies, such as drinking glasses and writing supplies.
• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaners.
• Dusts furniture and equipment.
• Polishes metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings.
• Washes walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
• Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empties wastebaskets and empties and cleans ashtrays.
• Transports trash and waste to the disposal area.
• Replenishes bathroom supplies.
• Replaces light bulbs.
