Job Description
The Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining and cleaning the guestrooms while providing attentive, courteous, and efficient service to guests. They will also be responsible for keeping the public areas clean and organized.
Essential Duties
- Work independently and follow instructions regarding task priorities.
- Ensure key security by properly adhering to checkout procedures.
- Change bed linens and make beds to standards.
- Sanitize and clean restrooms, dust all surfaces, clean mirrors, fixtures, and floors.
- Vacuum carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
- Empty wastebaskets, clean ashtrays, and remove trash to disposal areas.
- Sweep, scrub, and mop all areas. Dust and polish furniture and equipment.
- Replenish supplies such as glasses, linens, stationery, and bathroom amenities.
- Maintain linen closets organized and stocked with necessary items.
- Complete daily housekeeping reports as required to ensure flawless service.
- Follow all safety and security procedures, including working with cleaning chemicals.
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure guest satisfaction.
Customer Service and Guest Satisfaction
- Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and proper uniform.
- Greet and acknowledge guests courteously.
- Assist guests and team members with their needs in a friendly manner.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Safety and Security
- Report suspicious activity of guests, visitors, or staff.
- Maintain security by keeping room doors locked.
- Adhere to safety and security policies, OSHA, and Blood Borne Pathogens regulations.
Physical, Mental, and Environmental Requirements
- Continuous grasping required.
- Occasional lifting of supplies up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk during the shift; sitting is limited.
- Reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, crouching, and kneeling required.
- Good vision necessary.
Skills, Educational Background, and Experience
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.
- Previous customer service or hotel experience required; Hilton experience is a plus.
- Friendly demeanor with excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Organizational and prioritization skills.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
