Job summary

Common Bond Bistro & Bakery in Houston, TX is seeking a team member to deliver high-quality beverages and food in a busy café setting. You will greet guests, explain menu items, and ensure orders are prepared accurately and promptly while maintaining a clean, sanitary work environment.

Role requires flexibility for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays; prior food service experience is a plus and a food handler/TABC card may be required depending on local health codes. Reports to Supervisor.

• Food handler’s and TABC card where required by local and state health code regulations.

Responsibilities

• Greeting customers with a smile and engaging with customers to identify needs.
• Maintain complete knowledge of baked goods and the menu.
• Taking orders from guests and packing all retail items and bread orders carefully and efficiently.
• Running food and drinks to customers in a timely fashion.
• Notifying a direct supervisor if a customer has a complaint.
• Restocking your station with paper goods, baked goods, milks, drinks, condiments, etc.
• Rolling silverware and maintaining a clean station.
• Inform management of any foreseeable shortages before items run out.
• Bus tables, wipe surfaces with a clean and wet sani towel.
• Sweep floors and remove trash from dining room during and after service.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, including restrooms checked every half hour.
• Assist with putting away deliveries and maintaining parking lot and patio.
• Keep doors and windows clean and free of handprints; rotate stock FIFO.
• Maintain good attendance and punctuality; cash handling and store safety.
