Job summary

Chenega Professional Services Strategic Business Unit is seeking an Armed Security Guard II to safeguard personnel, facilities, information, and assets in a government-security environment. You will enforce access controls, perform patrols, respond to emergencies, and report incidents with professionalism and integrity.

The role requires a high school diploma (or GED), firearms qualifications, and the ability to read and communicate in English.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 21 years of age or older.
• English reading/writing/speaking proficiency to interpret policies and post orders.
• Graduate of a recognized security/law enforcement training academy.
• Must successfully complete firearms qualifications and maintain weapons proficiency.
• Background and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Protect government personnel, facilities, equipment, and property from theft, damage, unauthorized access, and other security threats.
• Maintain a visible security presence through patrols.
• Monitor for suspicious activity, safety hazards, and security violations.
• Respond to alarms, emergencies, incidents, and requests for assistance.
• Observe, document, and report incidents to supervisors.
• Verify credentials, badges, and authorization for access control.
• Process visitors, contractors, and vendors per procedures.
• Conduct inspections of personnel, vehicles, and facilities.
• Support internal and perimeter security operations with a professional, customer-focused approach.
• Provide visitor assistance and escorts when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies as directed by post orders.
• Take appropriate action to protect life and property.
• Exercise sound judgment in assessing threats.
• Support emergency evacuation and incident response activities.
• Carry and maintain issued firearms and security equipment in accordance with policies.
• Demonstrate proficiency with assigned weapons and complete required qualifications.
• Follow laws, contract requirements, training, and policies when using force.
• Maintain accountability for weapons, ammunition, and equipment.

We are seeking a highly professional Armed Security Guard II to join our team in support of a critical government security mission. This position plays an essential role in safeguarding personnel, facilities, information, and assets while ensuring a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and the public.

As an Armed Security Guard II, you will serve as a visible security presence, enforce access control procedures, conduct patrols, respond to emergencies, and support overall site security operations. The ideal candidate is dependable, observant, physically capable, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Protect government personnel, facilities, equipment, and property from theft, damage, unauthorized access, and other security threats.
• Maintain a visible security presence through foot and vehicle patrols of assigned areas.
• Monitor facilities and surrounding areas for suspicious activity, safety hazards, and security violations.
• Respond to alarms, emergencies, incidents, and requests for assistance in accordance with established procedures.
• Observe, document, and report incidents, unusual activity, and security concerns to supervisory personnel.
• Control access to government facilities by verifying credentials, badges, and authorization documentation.
• Process visitors, contractors, and vendors in accordance with established security procedures.
• Conduct personnel, vehicle, package, parcel, and facility inspections when required.
• Support internal and perimeter security operations while maintaining a professional customer-focused approach.
• Provide visitor assistance, directions, and escorts when appropriate.
• Respond to security incidents, emergencies, medical situations, and unusual events as directed by post orders and site procedures.
• Take appropriate action during incidents to protect life, property, and critical assets.
• Utilize sound judgment when assessing potential threats and security concerns.
• Support emergency evacuation procedures and incident response activities.
• Carry and maintain issued firearms and security equipment in accordance with company policies, training standards, and applicable regulations.
• Demonstrate proficiency with assigned weapons and successfully complete all required qualifications.
• Exercise the use of force only in accordance with applicable laws, contract requirements, training, and established policies.
• Maintain accountability and proper care of all assigned weapons, ammunition, and security equipment.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to interpret policies, procedures, post orders, and training materials.
• Graduate of a Federal, State, Local, Military, or recognized law enforcement, security, or physical security training academy.
• Ability to successfully complete all required firearms qualifications and maintain weapons proficiency.
• Successfully pass background and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior military, law enforcement, corrections, protective services, or armed security experience.
• Experience supporting federal, government, critical infrastructure, healthcare, or high-security environments.
• Familiarity with physical security systems, access control systems, alarm systems, and incident response procedures.
