Job summary

Standex in New Berlin, WI is seeking a Welder to perform welding on metal components using GTAW and other techniques. You will interpret blueprints and maintain welding quality while adhering to safety protocols.

The role requires precision, ability to read technical drawings, and experience with various alloys. You will contribute to SQDC goals and participate in audits and training as directed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years related experience and/or training.
• Certified to groove weld and fillet weld on stainless steel and alloys per AWS D17.1.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and GD&T.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Must follow safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Read work orders, blueprints, and specs to determine dimensions and setup.
• Perform GTAW welding on a range of alloys.
• Visually inspect welds and pass written exam.
• Measure parts with micrometers, calipers, or dial indicators.
• Position and clamp workpieces in fixtures or jigs.
• Maintain welding equipment and tools.
• Document production and quality logs.
