The Global Security Operations Center serves as both a global security intelligence hub and an operational support center for daily campus security functions. The GSOC Operations Specialist supports these complementary functions, including global threat monitoring and analysis, access control management, security systems monitoring and support, emergency response coordination, incident communications, and day‑to‑day support of on‑site security operations.

The GSOC Operations Specialist brings a proactive security mindset to every function, identifying and addressing risks before they elevate. The role requires sound judgment, strong communication, crossfunctional collaboration, and the ability to operate independently while supporting the client’s global operations and assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor global security systems, including closed‑circuit television (CCTV), access control, threat alerts, travel risk monitoring, and emergency notification platforms.
  • Review security data and operational information to identify, assess, **escalate**, and report issues that may affect client assets, operations, employees, or stakeholders.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for security‑related incidents and requests, providing professional, customer service–oriented support as a front‑facing representative of the Security Operations team.
  • Support access control and security system issues by receiving requests, gathering relevant information, completing established response actions, and escalating technical issues to the appropriate team when needed.
  • Coordinate responses to emergencies, critical incidents, and operational disruptions while supporting timely communication among responding personnel, leadership, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed incident reports, logs, and documentation to support organizational accountability, continuity, and follow‑up.
  • Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders, as needed, to support security operations and execute appropriate protective measures.
  • Operate autonomously within established procedures and exercise sound decision‑making when direct management oversight is not immediately available.
  • Remain calm, focused, and effective during high‑stress, rapidly evolving situations while managing multiple competing priorities.
  • Maintain situational awareness of significant global events and identify potential production impacts that may require client awareness, even when an automated alert is not generated.
  • Prepare and **escalate** relevant threat information to the client for review and approval, then support dissemination to appropriate global operations and asset management teams for local risk assessment and response.
  • Assess alerts for severity, geographic proximity, operational relevance, and potential impact, including significant events that may warrant review beyond configured asset‑based alerting thresholds.
  • Monitor Everbridge risk intelligence alerts and other relevant information for events that may affect global production locations, personnel, assets, or operations.
  • Maintain awareness of both global and site‑specific security activity and transition effectively between global threat intelligence responsibilities and day‑to‑day campus security operations based on assigned GSOC functions.
GSOC Operations Specialist | Scope of Responsibilities
  • Serve as a communications and coordination point for campus security incidents, ensuring relevant information is documented, communicated, and escalated to security leadership and appropriate stakeholders.
  • Support daily Security Operations Center functions for the assigned campus, including incident intake and coordination, radio and telephone communications, access control support, security system monitoring, and operational support for on‑site security personnel.
Required Qualifications
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State of California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) Guard Card.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including grammar, spelling, and report writing.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and complete assigned tasks accurately under time‑sensitive conditions.
  • Ability to think critically, apply sound judgment, and make appropriate decisions within established procedures.
  • Ability to remain calm and perform effectively in a fast‑paced, dynamic, and high‑stress environment.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Everbridge Risk Intelligence or a comparable threat intelligence platform, including monitoring and evaluating global alerts for potential impacts to people, production locations, assets, and operations.
  • Relevant experience in security operations, a Global Security Operations Center (GSOC), law enforcement, military, intelligence, emergency response, or a similar operational environment.
  • Experience with intelligence reporting, and the preparation and evaluation of security‑related information.
  • Experience with security systems, incident management platforms, access control systems, monitoring tools, or emergency notification platforms.
  • Working knowledge of incident response principles and the Incident Command System (ICS).
  • Demonstrated ability to connect external events or developing situations to potential impacts on client assets and operations.
