The successful candidate will work with hydraulic and electrical systems, perform routine maintenance, and complete required paperwork. Must have a high school diploma or GED and own tools.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required; one year experience or equivalent.
  • Able to pass background checks and obtain airport security badge.
  • Prior GSE or heavy equipment experience preferred; own tools required.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and maintain ground support equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, repair and/or overhaul equipment.
  • Service equipment with fuel, water, oil and hydraulic fluid.
  • Diagnose problems using test equipment and manuals.
  • Build and assemble machines or components as required.

  • Maintain and clean machinery and systems; apply lubricants.
  • Replenish fluids and components; report issues.

Persons Employed As a GSE Mechanic Is Expected To

Responsibilities
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Read, write and fluently speak and understand the English language.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Write routine business correspondence.
  • Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, supervisor and employees.
  • Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Excellent knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical and other systems and their components
  • Aptitude in using various hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers etc.) and precision measurement tools (e.g. calipers)
  • Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction, blueprints etc.
  • A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines
  • Very good communication skills
  • A problem-solving ability
  • Very good physical strength and stamina
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED plus one (1) year experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Ability to pass background checks (criminal and motor vehicle), drug tests, receive and maintain issuance of an airport security badge, and be insurable by the company's insurance policies.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.
  • Prior GSE or heavy equipment experience preferred.
  • Must have your own tools.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license.
  • Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is a definite plus.
  • Valid certification (ASE) preferred.
