Job summary

PrimeFlight Aviation Services, Inc. is seeking a GSE Mechanic Level II in the Washington, DC area. The role repairs and maintains ground support equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and trucks, both motorized and non-motorized.

You will perform advanced maintenance, inspections, and diagnostics on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems while complying with safety regulations and company standards.

Qualifications

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • 3 years of verified experience required.
  • Must provide their own tools and toolbox.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license.
  • Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs where applicable).

Responsibilities

  • Service and repair GSE equipment including fuel, water, oil, hydraulics and compressed air systems.
  • Log repair work and describe tasks per piece of equipment.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot and repair engines, electrical systems, brakes, hydraulics, and undercarriages.
  • Diagnose problems using manuals and test equipment; operate equipment for testing.
  • Maintain safety procedures and uphold PrimeFlight service standards.

Schedule: Sunday - Thursday (6:00am - 2:30pm)

SUMMARY OVERVIEW

As a GSE Mechanic Level II,theprimary responsibility will be repairing and maintaining both motorized and non-motorized Airline & Aircraft Ground Service Equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, pushbacks, trucks, and more. In this role, you will carry out advanced maintenance and repairs on a wide range of ground support equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Service equipment with fuel, water, oil, hydraulic fluid and compressed air
  • Log equipment numbers to be repaired with description of work to be done on each piece
  • Inspect, Maintain, Troubleshoot, Replace, Repair, or Modify:
  • Engines and transmissions
  • Electrical systems
  • Brakes and braking systems
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic systems on mobile lift and conveyor systems
  • Bumpers and body work
  • Towing hitches and towing bars
  • Undercarriages, wheels and tires
  • Bushings, shafts, end places, springs, coils, armatures, push rods, valves, manifolds, tubing, hose and wiring
  • Diagnose, Troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues in accordance with manufacturer guidelines, industry standards and safety regulations
  • Remove, test, repair or replace components and accessories such as carburetors, governors, air and oil cleaners, ignition points and auditory sensors
  • Check and adjust tolerance of valves, bearings, cams, clutches and drive shafts
  • Diagnose problems using test equipment and applicable manuals
  • Operate and test ground equipment for performance assessment
  • Completed associated paperwork and track parts
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues
  • Exemplify PrimeFlight customer service and safety standards
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.
  • 3 years of verified experience required
  • Must provide their own tools and toolbox
  • Demonstrate regular, predictable attendance at job location
  • Must hold a valid driver's license.
  • Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including theuseofelectronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices
  • Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means
  • Pass a background check and drug screen
  • Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable).
  • Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to beflexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
