Job summary

Menzies Aviation Philadelphia at Philadelphia International Airport is seeking an experienced GSE Mechanic to repair and rebuild a range of airport service vehicles. You will inspect engines, hydraulics, electrical, and fuel systems and perform scheduled maintenance to ensure safe, efficient operations.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, performing quality checks, and maintaining documentation. The role requires the ability to work across shifts, including weekends and holidays, in varied

Qualifications

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED or related experience/training.
  • Ideal candidate has auto maintenance or forklift maintenance experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of mechanical experience.
  • Able to read, write and speak English.
  • Flexible to work variable shifts including weekends/holidays.
  • Must obtain and maintain all required Airports and Custom badges/seals.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and identify defective or broken parts on vehicles and repair gas/diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual checks on fueling equipment and maintain records.
  • Drive and operate refueling equipment vehicles.
  • Provide preventive care and timely repairs to equipment to support aircraft services.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment.

Location

Philadelphia International Airport - PHL.

Required Tools

Must possess mechanical tools and toolbox.

Shifts

1st shift (11:00 - 19:30 Off Thursday and Friday); 2nd Shift (14:00-22:30 Off Wednesday and Thursday); 3rd Shift (04:00-12:30 Off Monday and Tuesday).

Pay

$24 -$26.

Role Purpose

This role is responsible for the safe and efficient repairing and rebuilding of airport service vehicles. These vehicles include but are not limited to support trucks, stationary carts, tankers, and hydrant trucks. You will be required to inspect and identify defective or broken parts on vehicles as well as make repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. The maintenance team ensures our aircraft services team can operate effectively by providing proper preventive care for equipment and timely repairs to broken equipment ensuring all work is performed safely and is supported by following established procedures and protocols.

What you will be doing
  • Inspect and identify defective or broken parts on vehicles as well as make repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, fueling and mechanical systems.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual quality control checks on their fueling equipment, maintain records relating to maintenance.
  • Drive and operate refueling equipment vehicles.
  • Ensure our aircraft services team can operate effectively by providing proper preventative care to equipment and timely repairs to broken equipment.
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment, in accordance with local health, safety, and security policies and procedures, assuring a clean and safe working environment.

  • Must have a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • We are ideally looking for an individual with auto maintenance or forklift maintenance experience
  • 3 to 5 years of mechanical experience
  • Ability to proficiently read, write and speak English.
  • Available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all required Airports and Custom badges/seals.
