Assemblix Staffing in East Indianapolis is seeking a GSE Mechanic to maintain and repair airport ground support equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and large heavy-duty equipment.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and conducting preventive maintenance to keep critical equipment operating safely and efficiently. First shift hours apply, with a background check and drug screen required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and relevant work experience.
• Experience with diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair equipment independently.
• Forklift/boom/scissor lift maintenance experience preferred.
• Eligible to work in the United States; able to pass background and drug screen.

Responsabilités

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair airport ground support equipment.
• Perform mechanical repairs on diesel-powered equipment and heavy-duty machinery.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, including cylinders, hoses, pumps, and related components.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and routine equipment servicing.
• Identify mechanical issues and determine the appropriate repairs to minimize downtime.
• Repair and maintain equipment similar to forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts, and other powered industrial equipment.
• Follow established safety procedures and maintain accurate service and maintenance records.

Pay: Up to $30.00 per hour, based on experience

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced GSE Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair airport ground support equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background working with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and large industrial or heavy-duty equipment.

Experience repairing forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts, or similar heavy equipment is highly preferred. This is a great opportunity for a mechanically skilled technician who can diagnose problems, perform repairs, and help keep critical equipment operating safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair airport ground support equipment.
• Perform mechanical repairs on diesel-powered equipment and heavy-duty machinery.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a diesel mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, industrial mechanic, or GSE mechanic.
• Hands-on experience with diesel engines and hydraulic systems on large machinery.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment.
• Forklift, boom lift, or scissor lift maintenance and repair experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to diagnose equipment issues and perform repairs independently.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to safety.
• Airport GSE experience is a plus, but candidates with transferable heavy equipment or industrial mechanical experience are encouraged to apply.

Pay and Schedule

Pay up to $30.00/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Monday through Friday.

First shift: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM.

Located on the east side of Indianapolis.

Position Requirements

• Minimum Qualifications: (Education and Work Experience, Computer Skills, Written and Verbal Communication Skills)
• High School Diploma and relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of Windows based software.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows.
• Ability to operate hand, power and specialized tooling.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States, pass background, and drug screen.
• Special Skills: (Language, Physical Demands, Math)
• Advanced math skills: Such as Machinist's math.
• Basic Fabrication skills that will include welding.
• Basic Ability to read prints, schematics and machine and repair manuals.
• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
