Job summary

PrimeFlight Aviation Services, Inc. is seeking a Ground Support Equipment Shop Manager to lead a maintenance and repair workshop for tugs, belt loaders, and GSE assets in a fast-paced aviation environment.

The role involves managing a team of skilled mechanics, implementing preventive maintenance, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance while delivering on SLAs and uptime targets.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing a maintenance shop, preferably in aviation or related industry.
• Strong leadership skills with experience in team management and development.
• Demonstrate regular, predictable attendance at job location.
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations.
• Ability to operate electronic devices and systems (IPads/Tablets, Computers).
• Excellent communication with colleagues and clients; able to work in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily operations of the GSE maintenance and repair shop.
• Supervise and mentor a team of mechanics and technicians.
• Develop, implement, and manage preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and policies.
• Coordinate with departments and external customers to align equipment availability and schedule work.
• Build and manage customer relationships as primary contact for inquiries and feedback.
• Track and report KPIs such as SLAs, uptime, response times, and turnaround times.
• Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies.
• Enforce quality control and provide hands-on technical support when needed.
• Train and develop staff; stay updated on latest technologies and safety protocols.
• Oversee budgeting and cost control; maintain records in maintenance management system.
