Job summary

Rand Precision Machining in Falconer, NY is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and improve mechanical systems and manufacturing processes for enhanced performance and reliability. You will work with production, quality, and maintenance teams to solve technical issues and optimize equipment.

The role emphasizes CAD-driven design, prototype development, testing, and collaboration across cross-functional teams to meet customer specifications and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field required.
• Experience in Defense related Manufacturing is a plus.
• Experience with CNC machining is a plus.
• Prior management experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of materials science and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and refine mechanical components and processes using CAD software.
• Develop prototypes and oversee testing to validate design functionality and performance.
• Ensure components meet customer specifications.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and procurement to support project objectives.
• Communicate technical findings and project updates to stakeholders.
• Manage project timelines and deliverables for successful execution.
• Assist in the transition of components to production.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to resolve production challenges.
• Support process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Maintain accurate engineering documentation and specifications.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards and Rand’s AS9100 Quality Management System.
