Job summary

Atlassian is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join our Growth organization. You will build ML systems for personalized experiences across the customer lifecycle and work with product, engineering, data science, and analytics teams.

You will design models for recommendations, activation journeys, and cross-product expansion, while ensuring measurable improvements in engagement and business value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 5+ years of industry experience in machine learning.
• Expertise in Python and knowledge of Java and Typescript, with production-grade coding.
• Experience building and scaling ML models for business use cases.
• Ability to communicate ML concepts to diverse audiences and drive practical results.
• Agile mindset with iterative improvement and collaboration with product/analytics teams.
• Familiarity with contextual bandits, recommender systems, and causal inference.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate ML systems for Growth to improve engagement and activation.
• Develop models and decisioning services for personalized recommendations and journeys.
• Collaborate with product, data science, analytics, marketing, and sales teams.
• Evaluate, monitor, and iterate on models, ensuring latency, quality, and fairness.
