Base Power in Austin, Texas is seeking a Lead for Base Energy to own its growth strategy, commercial planning, and pricing. You will have direct ownership over pricing and the P&L, leading efforts to grow the retail electricity segment competitively.
The ideal candidate has over 4 years of experience in commercial roles, strong pricing instincts, and the ability to manage risks while driving sustainable growth. Join our dynamic team and make an impact in transforming the energy grid.
Base is America’s next-generation power company. We’re rebuilding the foundation of modern civilization–electricity–by deploying a vast network of distributed batteries that is transforming today’s fragile, centralized grid into a resilient and abundant system. We are engineers, operators, and creatives solving some of the most complex, interdisciplinary challenges of our time.
Base Energy is our retail electricity business that saves customers and businesses on their power bills, and a major growth engine as we expand across deregulated markets. We’re hiring a Lead to own this business line end-to-end: the growth strategy that scales it, the pricing that makes it competitive and profitable, and the commercial strategy.
You’ll work with finance and markets to own pricing, own the acquisition strategy and channel mix that hits enrollment targets, position the plan against incumbent retail providers, and manage risk.
This role is built for a commercial operator who wants ownership: pricing authority, a clear P&L to move, and the freedom to build the playbook for how Base sells energy in every market we enter.
The Growth team at Base is lean, high-ownership, and results-driven. We operate with clear accountability, tight feedback loops, and a strong bias towards action. Marketing works closely with design, sales, and product to build scalable systems that support the rapid buildout of America’s next-generation power company.
Please note: Base is a startup, which means priorities shift and evolve quickly. Your role may expand or change based on the needs of the business at any given time, so the responsibilities listed may not be exhaustive.
