Job summary

Synergy, a leading Boston commercial real estate firm, is seeking a Property Accountant to handle accounting, financial analysis, and reporting for a portfolio of properties. You will maintain tenant ledgers, enforce internal controls, and prepare investor statements, budgets, and monthly reports for senior management.

The role requires 2–4 years of real estate accounting (or audit), GAAP knowledge, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years real estate accounting or audit experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the accounting function, financial analysis and reporting for a portfolio of properties
• Maintaining tenant ledgers
• Primary enforcement of Company’s internal control policies, ensuring compliance, adherence, and best practices
• Preparation of all monthly, quarterly and annual investor financial statements
• Maintain detailed financial workpapers and supporting schedules
• Participate in the annual budgeting process and preparation of monthly reports for review by senior management
• Maintain confidentiality of information related to HR, operating companies and other functions as necessary
• Prepare annual CAM and Real Estate Tax reconciliation charges to tenants
• Assist with coordination of information to external auditors
• Perform other assigned duties and complete ad hoc projects, as required
