Job summary

Sysco in the United States is seeking a Merchandising Manager to help lead a team of category merchandisers. You will develop and execute strategies for each category, manage vendor relationships, optimize product mix, pricing, and logistics, and work with marketing to position products effectively.

You will analyze category performance, collaborate with Sales to identify growth opportunities, and lead the team to deliver high-quality category strategies.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience in online merchandising.
• Leadership qualities and ability to coach and supervise.
• Exceptional organization and attention to detail.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Negotiation skills.
• 3 years of planning and/or management experience.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project).

Responsibilities

• Partners with Operations, Procurement, and QA to align inventory, quality, and demand with profitability.
• Analyze category performance, market trends, and sales data to drive revenue and margins.
• Collaborate with Sales to identify growth opportunities and optimize assortments.
• Lead and inspire the merchandising team to deliver category strategies.
• Foster teamwork within the department and cultivate a collaborative environment.
• Assist in strategy development and category financial forecasting with Merchandisers.
• Provide analytics and reporting on top suppliers.
• Make recommendations to management on category improvements.
• Participate in strategic supplier meetings with Category Merchandisers as needed.
• Support marketing, communications, and promotional activities.
