Job summary

Gusto is seeking an experienced, hands‑on people manager to lead a data science and analytics team for Growth product initiatives. You will work with Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales, and Finance to deliver insights that shape strategy and accelerate business growth.

The role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on analysis, guiding senior leaders through data and AI strategy while driving rigor in analyses and experimentation.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data science with leadership experience.
• Deep expertise in product analytics and SaaS environments.
• Strong statistics, modeling, and AI product thinking.
• Executive storytelling and influencing senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of data scientists.
• Shape product and business strategy through data.
• Develop and scale measurement frameworks for product initiatives (AI-enabled).
• Support experimentation and decision-making (A/B tests, segmentation, funnel analysis).
• Partner on AI-powered product development with ML Engineering and Product teams.
• Balance strategic and hands-on impact, ensuring technically sound insights.
• Influence senior leadership with clear, actionable recommendations.
