Job summary

Google LLC in New York and San Jose seeks a Group Product Manager for Core Data Protection to lead end-to-end product development, from ideation to launch, across cross-functional teams.

You will shape strategy for data protection platforms, balance regulatory requirements with product goals, and partner with Product and Engineering leaders across Google's ecosystem. Strong background in data governance, AI integration, and large-scale data infrastructure is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience in product management or a related technical role.
• 5 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch (e.g., ideation to execution, end-to-end, 0 to 1).
• Experience integrating generative AI tools or Large Language Model (LLM) interfaces into workflows.
• Experience with data governance, privacy-by-design principles, and compliance in enterprise data environments.

Responsibilities

• Drive ownership of PRDs by overseeing collaboration with partner teams (e.g., engineers, Program Managers, User Experience) during product design.
• Define and manage the definition of product roadmaps.
• Own development and secure buy-in for a product vision that identifies, defines, and supports the overall product narrative and direction, achieving an outcome that is greater than the sum of its parts.
• Oversee validation of market size and opportunity (e.g., user-based, strategic opportunity, revenue).
• Lead the team through defining, identifying, collecting, and tracking appropriate product or business metrics, both quantitative and qualitative for new or existing products or business ventures.
