Job description

A Group Product Manager job is currently open through PRADCO. You will have enterprise-level accountability for the strategic direction, lifecycle performance, and profitability of assigned product lines. Reporting to the Director of Sales, this role drives product vision, roadmap execution, and cross-functional alignment to ensure successful product development, launch, and sustainment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • ·Defines and owns the long-term vision, strategy, and roadmap for assigned product lines.
  • ·Ensures alignment between product strategy and corporate objectives, including growth, profitability, and market expansion.
  • ·Establishes structured product funnels and prioritization frameworks to guide development investments.
  • ·Evaluates market trends, competitive positioning, and customer needs to identify new product opportunities.
  • ·Drives strategic alignment across divisions, including cross-divisional product considerations.
2. Product Lifecycle Management
  • ·Oversees all stages of the product lifecycle, including development, launch, pricing, sustainment, and rationalization.
  • ·Ensures disciplined execution of the stage-gate process, including continuous improvement of lifecycle governance.
  • ·Defines and enforces standards for product requirement documents (PRDs), market requirements, and business cases.
  • ·Ensures consistent communication and coordination across all lifecycle stakeholders.
  • ·Leads product launch planning and execution to ensure market readiness and commercial success.
  • ·Leads, coaches, and develops a team of product managers and related roles to build long-term organizational capability.
  • ·Establishes clear performance expectations, priorities, and accountability across the product management team.
  • ·Promotes a collaborative, cross-functional mindset to improve coordination with Engineering, Sales, and Marketing.
  • ·Supports hiring, onboarding, development, and performance management processes.
  • ·Builds a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
4. Cross-Functional Alignment & Execution
  • ·Partners with Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and other divisions to ensure successful product execution.
  • ·Ensures product strategies are translated into executable plans across all functions.
  • ·Acts as the central coordination point for aligning product priorities with operational capabilities and market demands.
  • ·Facilitates communication between internal stakeholders and external partners, including customers and channel partners.
  • ·Drives resolution of cross-functional challenges impacting product performance or timelines.
  • ·Establishes processes for measuring market penetration, share growth, and opportunity identification.
  • ·Incorporates customer feedback, field insights, and distributor input into product strategy and improvements.
  • ·Maintains a deep understanding of industrial markets, distribution channels, and competitive dynamics.
  • ·Translates market data into actionable product and business strategies.
6. Financial Performance & Business Accountability
  • ·Develops and presents long-term business cases to the Product Steering Committee.
  • ·Establishes and enforces ROI, profitability, and lifecycle performance metrics.
  • ·Monitors product line financial performance, including pricing strategy, margins, and cost structures.
  • ·Partners with Finance to evaluate investment decisions and track performance against targets.
  • ·Drives initiatives to improve profitability, cost efficiency, and overall product portfolio performance.
7. Process Standardization & Performance Metrics
  • ·Defines and implements standardized processes for product management activities across the organization.
  • ·Establishes and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) for product success and team effectiveness.
  • ·Ensures consistent reporting and visibility into product performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • ·Drives continuous improvement of tools, processes, and methodologies used in product management.
  • ·Develops and advises standards for inventory levels in coordination with Sales and Operations.
  • ·Partners with Sales and Marketing to establish and monitor channel partner performance metrics.
  • ·Ensures alignment between product availability, demand planning, and market needs.
9. Organizational Development & Talent Management
  • ·Leads recruitment and selection of product management team members.
  • ·Ensures effective onboarding and integration of new hires into the company’s culture and processes.
  • ·Develops team understanding of corporate strategy, product philosophy, and market positioning.
Education
  • ·Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field required.
  • ·MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Experience
  • ·5–10 years of experience in product management with demonstrated success.
  • ·5–10 years of experience leading and developing teams.
  • ·Proven track record of delivering product strategy, roadmap execution, and lifecycle performance improvements.
  • ·Experience in industrial or engineered product environments preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • ·Strong leadership and organizational skills with ability to influence across functions.
  • ·Deep understanding of product lifecycle management, including stage-gate processes.
  • ·Strong financial acumen, including ROI, profitability, and business case development.
  • ·Knowledge of pump hydraulics and industrial systems preferred.
  • ·Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • ·Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • ·Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex cross-functional initiatives.
  • ·Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and product specifications.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
