Sea Mar Community Health Centers is seeking an on-call Group Life Counselor I at the Tacoma Adult Residential Treatment Center. The role includes admissions support, behavior monitoring, milieu management and group facilitation, with an emphasis on professional boundaries and ongoing competency.

Qualifications

  • Must have good character and be able to meet physical, mental, emotional and social needs of adolescent and adult populations served.
  • Must have good organizational and communication skills.
  • Understand that chemical dependency is a treatable illness and a public health problem.
  • Must complete an annual clinical competency test.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and appropriate boundaries in all interactions.
  • No history of alcohol or other drug misuse for two years prior to employment and no misuse while employed.

Responsibilities

  • Completes admission procedures and monitors patient behavior.
  • Supervises patients and assists with milieu management and group facilitation.
  • Maintains logs and supports treatment team with individualized plans.
  • Attends regular staff meetings and training; completes required responsibilities timely and accurately.

Group Life Counselor I On Call

Sea Mar is a mandatory COVID-19 and flu vaccine organization Job Description Group Life Counselor I On Call- Sea Mar Community Health Centers Sea Mar is seeking an on-call Group Life Counselor at Tacoma Adult Residential Treatment Center.

This direct service position includes a combination of completing admission procedures, monitoring patient’s behavior, supervising patient and assisting with milieu management and group facilitation. An entry level person is expected to have a basic understanding of how to provide the direct services listed above.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintains professional standards and follows the treatment policies and procedures of the agency, as well as applicable federal, state and local regulations, especially WAC 388-877 requirements.
  • Attends regular staff meetings and in-service training for staff.
  • Completes all staff responsibilities as required, with emphasis on timeliness and accuracy.
  • Supports the Chemical Dependency Professional/Trainee with the patient's individualized treatment plan as designed and implemented by the treatment team.
  • Monitors the clients, log all activities in the logbook, do laundry for youth clients, clean up, and be responsible for shift activities.
Qualifications
  • The person in this position must be of good character and able to maintain the understanding, physical health, emotional stability and personality suited to meet the physical, mental, emotional, and social needs of the adolescent and adult populations served.

  • The person in this position shall have no history or evidence of alcohol or other drug misuse for a period of two (2) years prior to the date of employment at the facility, and no misuse of alcohol or other drugs while employed at this facility.
  • This individual cannot be a person who has been convicted of a felony within the last seven years or ever been convicted of child abuse and / or any crime involving physical harm to another person nor be a perpetrator of substantiated child abuse.
  • With regards to his/her driving record, this person may not have violations/accidents in excess of the limits in the table below at time of hire, or anytime thereafter.
