Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Group Leader, Resource Management at its Normal, IL facility. You will partner with plant operations and manufacturing leaders to manage staffing and manpower flow, drive continuous improvements, and help meet safety, quality, cost and KPI targets.

Responsibilities include leading staffing across shifts, supporting attendance policies, scrap management, and implementing the Rivian manufacturing system. Strong lean, Six Sigma, and administration skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years Manufacturing Supervisory Experience (GA, body, paint preferred).
  • Must have a good understanding of manufacturing procedures and practices.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing.
  • Process and detail oriented.
  • Understanding of labor budgets, KPI's, and efficiency reporting.
  • Excellent communication and administrative skills with ability to coach and mentor.
  • A four-year degree preferred.
  • Specialized knowledge and strong experience in manufacturing operations
  • Experience in a high-mix, high-volume environment is highly preferred.
  • Experience providing support to managers, supervisors and/or professional staff.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement. Certification is an advantage.

  • Point of contact for departmental scrap management and develop and support improvement projects.
  • Change management leader within the department to support execution of process and product changes.
  • RPS: support the implementation and execution of Rivian’s manufacturing system and develop group leader knowledge.
  • Deliver team/department performance results.
  • Review work force requirements and balancing in body and coordination with other departments.
  • Manage human and material resources to meet production targets and KPIs.
  • Meet daily quality goals set by KPIs.
  • Ensures shop floor organization, production, safety, and department 5s.
  • Proactively and regularly develops and manages team members performance and capabilities, based upon company KPIs.
  • Provides leadership and training to accomplish plant/company goals and objectives.
  • Manage service part/made in house (MIH) schedule supporting respective managers in schedule attainment

Role Summary

The Group Leader, Resource Management role combines strong experience working in a manufacturing environment with excellent administrative skills and a continuous improvement mindset. This role will have the opportunity to make a critical impact as you work with plant operations and manufacturing leaders and team members, drive appropriate staffing levels and manpower flow along with continuous improvements, and meet and exceed people, safety, quality, cost, and other goals. The opening will be located at our Normal, IL facility and reports directly to the R2 Body Shop Director.

Qualifications

Pay Disclosure

The salary range for this role is $79,700-$99,600 for Illinois based applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs.
The successful candidate may be eligible for annual performance bonus and equity awards.
