Job summary

Eurofins Scientific seeks a Group Leader – Microbiology to head microbial lab operations in a GMP environment. You will oversee environmental monitoring, ensure data integrity, and mentor a team of microbiology analysts in a regulated setting.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s in Microbiology or Life Sciences and 6+ years in microbiology with EM in GMP settings, plus 6+ years leading technical teams. Full-time role in RTP area with strong benefits.

• Maintain and analyze microbiology productivity databases; prepare monthly metrics and trend reports.
• Investigate microbiological deviations and prepare detailed reports.
• Ensure calibration and maintenance of lab equipment; review microbiological data for accuracy and compliance.
• Lead and mentor microbiology analysts; coordinate onboarding and training; apply Lean principles to improve workflows.

• Lead environmental monitoring (EM) activities, including sampling of compressed gases, water systems, and cleanroom environments.
• Conduct microbial identification and testing of commercially prepared culture media.
• Maintain and analyze microbiology productivity databases; prepare monthly metrics and trend reports.
• Investigate microbiological deviations and prepare detailed reports.
• Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Review and verify microbiological data to ensure accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
• Utilize LIMS for sample tracking, test results, and reporting.
• Leadership & Operational Oversight
  • Mentor microbiology analysts promoting a culture of quality and continuous learning.
  • Manage onboarding, training, and development of new staff in EM and microbiology protocols.
  • Coordinate scheduling and task allocation.
  • Apply Lean principles to improve lab workflows and operational efficiency.
  • Serve as a key liaison between internal teams and external clients, ensuring timely communication and project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Life Sciences, or a related field.
• 6+ years of microbiology lab experience, including environmental monitoring in a GMP‑regulated setting.
• 6+ years of experience leading technical or laboratory teams.

Additional Information
