Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Quality Assurance Group Lead Inspector to oversee inspection procedures, coordinate QC efforts, and drive continuous quality improvement in the manufacturing process. This role leads complex inspections and mentors inspectors on a second shift.

You will train staff, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with 6S and quality records while supporting equipment maintenance and workflow optimization.

Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • 5 years minimum of increasingly difficult production and/or inspection experience involving quality equipment and techniques.
  • Ability to work under little or no supervision.
  • Ability to interpret instructions from written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Lead complex visual, dimensional, mechanical, electrical, and functional inspections on components, assemblies, systems, and materials, including first article inspections when required.

  • Train and mentor inspectors, lead root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Prepare and approve inspection reports, quality records, and conformance documentation while maintaining 6S standards.

Position Overview:

The Quality Assurance Group Lead Inspector plays a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and safety standards are maintained within the manufacturing process. This position leads all aspects of all inspection procedures, coordinates quality control efforts, and collaborated with multi-functional teams to maintain and improve product quality.

This is a second shift position.

What your day will look like:
  • Coordinate inspection schedules with Production Supervisors to ensure timely execution of quality activities and support the development of inspection procedures, guidelines, and training materials.
  • Lead complex visual, dimensional, mechanical, electrical, and functional inspections on components, assemblies, systems, and materials, including first article inspections when required.
  • Independently perform critical inspection processes, interpret test data from multiple sources, and establish specialized set-ups for new or unique equipment.
  • Train and mentor less experienced inspectors while leading root cause investigations, corrective actions, statistical analyses, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare and approve inspection reports, quality records, and conformance documentation while maintaining 6S standards, coordinating department consumables and tool orders, and supporting equipment maintenance activities.

What you will need to be successful:
  • High school education or equivalent
  • 5 years minimum of increasingly difficult production and/or inspection experience involving the application and working knowledge of quality equipment and techniques, specification interpretation, and quality control terminology, and significant leadership or coaching experience.
  • Ability to work under little or no supervision.
  • Aptitude to solve moderately complex practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardization exists.
  • Capability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
What would make you stand out:
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in technical or management field.
  • Certified Quality Inspector, Certified Quality Technician, VT Level I certification and/or NACE level I certification.
