Job summary

ACAC - Atlantic Coast Athletic Clubs in Richmond, VA is seeking a dynamic Group Exercise Program Manager to lead from the front, inspire our members through movement and motivation, and build a welcoming fitness community.

Responsibilities include guiding instructors, creating diverse class schedules, planning programs and events, tracking attendance, and managing studio operations and budgets. This exempt role reports to the General Manager.

Qualifications

• Current AFAA or ACE Group Fitness Certification or fitness-related degree with 1 specialty cert.
• Passion for group fitness and ability to lead and energize a team.
• Strong communication skills and sense of humor.
• Experience supervising teams and scheduling staff.
• Comfortable with budgeting and reporting (spreadsheets don’t scare you).
• Physically capable to teach, demo, and join classes when needed.

Responsibilities

• Be the heartbeat of the group exercise program across modalities (yoga, aqua, indoor cycling).
• Lead and support a stellar team of instructors (hire, train, motivate).
• Build and maintain diverse, balanced class schedules loved by members.
• Plan and promote programs, challenges, and events.
• Stay current with group fitness trends and keep energy high through seasons.
• Support members and instructors during changes.
• Track attendance and use data to inform decisions.
• Keep studios clean, safe, and stocked for moving classes.
• Manage costs and vendor relationships as budget boss.
• Collaborate across departments to shine the club.
