Job summary

VASA Fitness in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Team Lead for Group Fitness & STUDIO to oversee program development and member engagement. You will manage class programming, recruit and coach instructors, and ensure high-energy, inclusive sessions across STUDIO and Group Fitness offerings.

You will lead scheduling, mentor staff, and analyze attendance trends to keep programs fresh and aligned with club goals. Strong leadership and fitness certifications are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience teaching group fitness, small group training, or boutique fitness classes.
• Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or Kinesiology or NCCA-accredited Certification required.
• Current CPR/AED certification required.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, and develop top talent to deliver STUDIO and Group Fitness programs.
• Build class schedules that are competitive, on-trend, and convenient for members.
• Drive attendance and coach instructors on performance.
• Maintain a world-class member experience by ensuring spaces are clean, safe, and fully equipped.
• Attend classes to mentor instructors with actionable feedback.
• Facilitate quarterly STUDIO RED trainings and practice sessions.

The Team Lead for Group Fitness & our STUDIO program are the champions of member experience. You'll oversee class programming, talent development, and member engagement to ensure every class is high-energy, effective, and inclusive.

From building and maintaining competitive class schedules--including bootcamp, strength & conditioning, cardio, and yoga--to recruiting and coaching instructors, you'll make sure every detail supports both member satisfaction and business performance. By analyzing class counts and trends, you'll adapt programming to maximize attendance and ensure our offerings stay fresh, on-trend, and accessible. Your leadership creates an environment where members feel energized, instructors feel supported, and everyone feels connected.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 3+ years of experience teaching group fitness, small group training, or boutique fitness classes (bootcamp, strength, cardio, HIIT, or yoga).
• Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or Kinesiology OR NCCA-accredited Personal Training Certification or Group Fitness Certification required (if recently expired, you'll have 30 days to renew once hired).
• Current CPR/AED certification required.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
• General knowledge of kinesiology, exercise science, strength & conditioning, and physical fitness.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and optimistic mindset.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Passion for fitness, community, and helping people live healthier lives.

• Creating an approachable, community-driven environment where instructors and members feel energized and connected.
