Job summary

Genesis Health Clubs is seeking a Group Fitness Manager to oversee all aspects of the program at a designated location. You will hire, schedule and train staff, while collaborating with the Director of Group Fitness to continually grow the program.

Applicants must hold a CPR certification and a recognized group fitness credential, plus demonstrate strong customer service, teamwork and leadership abilities to motivate instructors and engage members.

Qualifications

• Available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Must hold CPR certification or obtain within 60 days.
• Group fitness certification ACE/ASC M/NSCA or MOSSA or equivalent required.
• Ability to work well with others and provide excellent customer service.
• Strong communication and leadership skills for training staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the Group Fitness program for a designated Genesis location.
• Hire, recruit, schedule and train new Group Fitness staff.
• Collaborate with the Director of Group Fitness and coordinators to grow the program.
• Train instructors to teach safe and effective classes.
• Organize and schedule all group fitness classes.
• Maintain equipment, rooms and storage areas.
• Prepare and discuss weekly aerobic report with Club Manager.
• Promote all classes and events internally and externally.
• Attend staff and club meetings to support operations.
• Establish professional relationships with members and staff.

This position will oversee all aspects of the Group Fitness program for a designated Genesis location; including hiring, recruiting, scheduling and training new Group Fitness Staff. This includes, but is not limited to, working with the Director of Group Fitness and other Group Fitness Coordinators to constantly develop and grow the success of Group Fitness.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Executes procedures as outlined by group fitness manual
• Work with other departments to achieve 60% of new members using the facility a minimum of 9 times a month
• Every quarter elect three (3) weekly GF classes as “sample classes” to attend
• Train all group fitness instructors to teach safe and effective classes
• Train all group fitness instructors to help, assist, motivate and retain all members
• Responsible for organizing and scheduling all group fitness classes as needed
• Maintain microphones, stereo equipment, rooms and equipment storage areas
• Prepare and discuss weekly aerobic report with Club Manager
• Promote all classes and events internally and externally
• Ability to perform all duties as required for group fitness instructors
• Attends all staff and club meetings and events
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with members and staff
• Ensures that all required documentation (daily reports, checklists, etc.) are completed in a timely manner.
• Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to emergency situations

Job Requirements

• Available to work weekends and evenings and holidays
• Must hold current CPR certification or obtain within 60 days of start date
• Certification by A.C.E., A.S.C.M., N.S.C.A., MOSSA or other nationally recognized certification
• Ability to work well with others
