Job summary

Edge Fitness Clubs is seeking a dynamic Group Fitness instructor to energize members through safe, motivating classes. You’ll teach at least two sessions weekly, demonstrate proper form, and adapt intensity for all fitness levels.

Qualifications

• 6 months of group fitness class teaching experience.
• Current CPR/AED certification and group fitness credentials.
• Nationally accredited CPT such as AFAA/ACE/NASM preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality member experiences through safe, effective and motivational classes.
• Demonstrate proper techniques and form and modify intensity as needed.
• Increase attendance through knowledge, skill and emotional connection.
• Teach at least two classes per week.
• Create community through positive interactions before and after class.
• Address member concerns or direct to club management.
• Report equipment maintenance needs to management.
• Recruit members to join classes and events.
• Maintain a growing social media presence to attract participants.
• Read staff communications and attend staff meetings when required.
• Maintain professionalism toward responsibilities, staff and members.
• Adhere to Edge Fitness policies and procedures.
• Support and articulate the Edge Fitness mission statement.

What You’ll DO:

• Deliver high quality member experiences through safe, effective and motivational classes.
• Demonstrate proper techniques and form that aligns with class descriptions while modifying intensity for members when necessary.
• Increase attendance through knowledge, skill and emotional connection.
• Willing to teach at least two classes a week.
• Create community through positive interactions before and after class.
• Address member concerns or direct to appropriate club management.
• Report equipment maintenance needs to club management.
• Drive excitement for classes and recruit members to join.
• Secure appropriate substitutes to ensure class coverage, per Edge policies and procedures.
• Maintain a growing social media presence to attract new participants to classes, special events, etc.
• Read staff communications and attend staff meetings on occasion as required.
• Maintain a professional attitude toward responsibilities, fellow instructors, club staff and members.
• Adhere to Group Exercise policies and procedures.
• Support and articulate the Edge Fitness mission statement.
• Maintain a healthy way of life.

What You’ll Need:

• 6 months experience teaching Group Fitness classes in a related discipline
• Valid professional fitness certification in specific specialty program formats: Les Mills, Spinning, Zumba, Yoga, Mat Pilates, Barre, etc.
• Nationally accredited Group Fitness Certification or CPT preferred: AFAA, ACE, AAAI, NASM
• Must possess and maintain current CPR/AED certification
• Must be outgoing, energetic and able to perform in front of an audience
• Must have access to regular email and phone communication
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of safe exercise techniques and ability to demonstrate them
