Job summary

Discovery Behavioral Health in Irvine, CA is seeking a Group Facilitator to lead group sessions at the PHP & IOP level of care. The role includes de-escalation or crisis intervention when needed, and communicating relevant information to the primary treatment team.

The successful candidate will support a comprehensive program of therapy, document services in the medical record, and ensure adherence to confidentiality laws and Joint Commission standards. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred and may be pursuing a Masters in progress.
• Must understand the therapeutic process and confidentiality laws.
• Must submit to post-offer medical checks and TB testing.
• Valid CA driver's license and liability insurance if driving on property.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates groups, workshops, and educational groups per schedule.
• Completes group notes immediately after each group.
• Documents all services in patients' medical record.
• Assesses suicidality and potential danger to self or others.
• Provides psychoeducation to patients as needed.
• Travels to other facilities for trainings when required.

Essential Job Functions

• Collaborates with Program Director and/or Clinical Director and other professional staff to help develop comprehensive program of therapy, evaluation and treatment.
• Facilitates groups, workshops, and educational groups as directed by the program schedule.
• Responsible for completing all group notes immediately after each group.
• Document all services provided in patients' medical record.
• Knowledge of company policy and procedures, and Joint Commission standards and regulations.
• Adheres to all regulations and documentation requirements in regard to patient care and compliance of all patient care.
• Assesses suicidality and possibility for danger to self or others.
• Provides psychoeducation to patients, as needed.
• Attends meals and models appropriate eating behaviors with patients, as assigned.
• May be required to travel to other facilities to attend trainings.

Knowledge, Education, Experience

• Bachelor's Degree, preferred
• May be working toward Masters degree to become a therapist
• Must understand the therapeutic process, understand confidentiality laws, and have strong knowledge of professional ethics.
• Successful candidate must submit to post offer, physical examination/medical history check, and TB test.
• Must have valid CA driver's license and liability insurance if driving a personal vehicle on our property.

Employment Status: Full-Time

Schedule: M-F 10:30-7pm

Work Location: Onsite- Irvine, CA

Compensation: Pay Range: $23-$25 hourly
