Job summary

Hope's Destiny in Horsham, PA, is seeking a Part-time Group Facilitator to lead therapeutic group sessions for adolescents with substance use disorders within the Outpatient Program, daytime programming (9am–1pm).

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary clinical team to promote recovery and wellness through evidence-based practices in a supportive setting.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field.
  • Certified/licensed as a counselor, social worker, or related mental health professional preferred but not required.
  • Experience facilitating group therapy in behavioral health or substance use settings.

Responsibilities

Job Overview:

The Group Facilitator is responsible for leading therapeutic group sessions within the Outpatient Program during daytime programming. They will work closely with adolescents who have substance use disorders, providing guidance, support, and education to facilitate recovery and wellness. The Group Facilitator will implement evidence-based practices and collaborate with the clinical team to create a supportive environment conducive to healing and growth. This position is part-time and requires morning hours (9am-1pm).

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Plan and facilitate therapeutic group sessions for clients with substance use disorders.
  2. Collaborate with the clinical team to develop group curricula and treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of clients.
  3. Utilize evidence-based interventions and techniques to address issues related to mental health.
  4. Provide psychoeducation on topics such as coping skills, stress management, and interpersonal relationships.
  5. Foster a safe and supportive atmosphere within the group setting, encouraging open communication and mutual respect among participants.
  6. Monitor group dynamics and individual progress, adjusting interventions as needed to meet the evolving needs of clients.
  7. Document client attendance, participation, and progress in accordance with program policies and procedures.
  8. Collaborate with case managers, therapists, and other treatment providers to ensure coordinated care and holistic treatment planning.
  9. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all aspects of group facilitation and client interaction.
  10. Participate in regular supervision, team meetings, and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
  • A master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field.
  • Certified or licensed as a counselor, social worker, or related mental health professional preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience facilitating group therapy sessions in a behavioral health or substance use treatment setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of substance use disorders, evidence-based interventions, and recovery-oriented practices.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Cultural competence and sensitivity to the needs of individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and self-care.
Work Environment:

The Group Facilitator will work in an outpatient setting, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to clients with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. The work will involve evening hours to accommodate client schedules. The Group Facilitator will report to the Clinical Supervisor or Executive Director and will have opportunities for professional growth and development within the organization.
