Position Overview
Group Exercise Instructor – Pilates Mat or Barre at Gold’s Gym PNW, Locations: Kirkland, Washington; Woodinville, Washington. Type: Part‑Time. Salary: $27–$30 per hour.
The Instructor will lead members in group exercise classes, ensuring safety, proper technique, and a motivating environment.

Pre‑class Preparation
- Arrive at the class location 10 minutes before the scheduled start to interact with members, orient new participants, and answer questions.
- Dress appropriately so participants can see proper form; wear suitable footwear.
- Prepare appropriate music, avoiding offensive language.
- Ensure all class and audio equipment functions correctly.
During Class Responsibilities
- Introduce yourself and the class format.
- Identify first‑timers and gauge their fitness level privately.
- Provide clear verbal instructions; maintain suitable volume, tempo, and overall atmosphere.
- Continuously monitor participants for correct form and offer variations for all fitness levels.
- Create a motivational and fun environment for all participants.
After Class Responsibilities
- Return the stereo and microphone to their proper settings.
- Prepare the room for the next class.
- Answer participant questions or concerns.
- Solicit feedback from participants.
Additional Responsibilities
- Ensure classes begin and end promptly; adjust flow to meet schedule.
- Follow closing procedures for the last class of the day as directed by the Group Exercise Motivator Manager.
- Provide a qualified substitute if unable to teach a scheduled class and notify the manager.
- Maintain dependable and consistent class schedules.
- Attend required staff meetings as needed.
- Follow correct clock‑in/out recording procedures.
- Prepare incident or witness reports if accidents occur.
- Maintain a positive, professional attitude toward responsibilities, employees, and members.
- Promote Gold’s Gym and GGX as appropriate.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Knowledge of safe exercise technique and group exercise principles.
- For Pilates Mat instructors: knowledge of Pilates principles and exercises with variations.
- Basic physiology and body mechanics knowledge.
- Ability to perform a variety of exercise routines.
- Positive and effective interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot audio equipment.
- Certification required in the instructor’s specific program(s).
- Current CPR certification and basic first aid training.
- Physical demands: ability to lift light weights, bend, squat, jump, run, reach, walk, hop, spin, and kick.
