Job summary

Glacial Community YMCA in Oconomowoc, WI seeks a Group Exercise Instructor to motivate members through safe, high-energy aqua and land-based fitness classes. You will lead energizing routines, select music, and ensure a welcoming atmosphere that supports healthy habits and community connection.

Regular subbing opportunities and no holidays are noted; training and certifications must be kept current. A strong focus on safety and inclusivity drives the Y’s mission and community wellness.

Qualifications

• Certification in Group Exercise or Personal Trainer (AFFA, ACE, ACSM, NASM, SCW, LES MILLS, YMCA or equivalent).
• CPR, AED, First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Hazard Communication certifications must be obtained within the first 90 days.
• Wages starting between $15-$25, based on experience, education and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead energizing, fun and safe aqua group exercise classes.
• Provide class routines and music according to ACE, AFFA, specific class certifying bodies and Y guidelines.
• Willingness to sub and participate in special class events.
• Maintain all required certifications.

Position Responsibilities:

• Previous experience preferred and demonstrated ability to lead group fitness, required.
• Willingness to attend meetings, training, and obtain additional certification as requested.
• Wages starting between $15-$25, based on experience, education and certifications
