YMCA of San Diego County is seeking a Group Exercise Instructor to build positive relationships with members, lead HIIT and group classes, and ensure safe, effective workouts at Mission Valley.
The role requires certification in NASM/ACE/ISSA or a related degree and CPR/AED/First Aid. Prior group exercise experience is preferred, with fingerprinting and compliance per YMCA policies.
The Group Exercise Instructor is responsible for building positive relationships among members, participants, volunteers, and staff by actively greeting and providing excellent customer service, guidance, and leadership. The Instructor creates and delivers Group Exercise classes in a safe, effective, and timely manner, appropriate to the level of the participants in class, to enhance physical, mental, and spiritual health.
A HIIT Instructor is a certified fitness professional who leads high-energy, fast-paced interval classes, combining short bursts of intense exercise with recovery periods. They specialize in driving maximum cardiovascular and muscle-conditioning results, ensuring safety through proper form while creating a high-intensity, motivating, and challenging atmosphere for participants of varying abilities.
