Cleveland Clinic Green Health and Wellness Center in Uniontown is seeking a Group Exercise Instructor to support classes under the LifeStyles program. You will work with Exercise Physiologists to help clients reach goals and enhance quality of life, collaborating with leadership to meet medical needs and improve client outcomes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Group Exercise certification from an NCCA-accredited organization.
• Current CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Greet members and guests with a smile and deliver world-class service at all times.
• Arrive ten minutes ahead of time to prepare classroom and music.
• Screen class for new members and instruct newcomers on class content.
• Refer members with possible limitations to appropriate staff for guidance.
• Follow class format according to LifeStyles descriptions within the designated time.
• Provide class with professional presentation and instruction.
• Receive approval for choreography, music, movement and breathing techniques.
• Refer members with questions to professional fitness staff.
• Operate A/V equipment and music with care.
• Complete accident/injury reports and submit to leadership.
• Return equipment to storage and maintain cleanliness of studio and floor.
• Attend scheduled staff meetings and LifeStyles meetings.
• Complete mandatory education and training to maintain competencies.
• Maintain applicable certifications/licensure.

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Group Exercise Manager, the Group Exercise Instructor will oversee and support all assigned classes. In this role, you will collaborate with leadership and Exercise Physiologists to help clients achieve goals and improve their overall quality of life. Your ability to meet medical needs, problem- solve and identify avenues for improvement can make a difference in the lives of patients every day.

A PRN caregiver in this position works varying shifts.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Greet members and guests with a smile and deliver world-class service at all times.
• Arrive ten minutes ahead of time to prepare classroom and music.
• Screen class for new members and instruct newcomers on class content.
• Refer members with possible limitations (including injuries and/or medication being taken) to a fitness staff member, manager or physical therapist for further direction.
• Follow scheduled class format according to LifeStyles class descriptions within the designated class time.
• Provide class with professional presentation and instruction.
• Receive approval from Group Exercise Manager for choreography, music selection, movement and breathing techniques and utilization of equipment.
• Refer members with questions regarding exercise to the professional fitness staff.
• Operate A/V equipment and music with care.
• Complete accident/injury report when appropriate and submit to the LifeStyles Director, Group Exercise Manager and Manager on duty.
• Return all exercise equipment to proper storage and make sure all exercise equipment and studio floor/pool deck is clean for the next class.
• Attend scheduled staff meetings and bi-annual LifeStyles meetings.
• Complete mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department specific competencies and requirements.
• Maintain applicable certification/licensure.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High School graduate or the equivalent
• One Group Exercise certification from an organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) including but not limited to: American Council on Exercise (ACE), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), National Exercise Trainers Association (NETA) or National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM)
• For Specialty formats, appropriate certification/license as dictated by format
• Current CPR certification
• Work experience with Zumba, Tabata Bootcamp, Pilates (e.g., Stott, Balanced Body, NETA), Aqua (e.g., Aquatics Exercise Association (AEA) and Arthritis Foundation), Group Cycling (e.g., Keiser, NETA , Spinning) or Martial Arts-based class (e.g., Turbo Kick, AFAA, NETA)

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• First aid certification
