MetLife in New York is offering a Sales Trainee internship within the Group Benefits team. You’ll gain experience across duties to build sales skills and learn about life, disability, dental, vision, and voluntary benefits offerings.

The program includes weekly curriculum training, a Capstone Project, participation in customer meetings, and exposure to technology that supports the salesforce. Successful interns may interview for a full-time sales trainee role.

Qualifications

  • Must demonstrate strong mathematical, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with leadership qualities.
  • Motivated team player with sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • High school diploma required; currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program (preferably rising senior).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is preferred.

  • Collaborate on an intern-led Capstone Project.
  • Participate in customer meetings.
  • Learn functions and uses of technology to support the salesforce.
  • Present Capstone project to peers, managers and senior leadership.
  • Perform duties supporting the sales organization as assigned or required.

The Opportunity
  • Assist business units by performing various assigned duties that are intended to provide experience and build sales skills for future development
  • Get an insider view of career potential within a high performing culture

  • Develop personally and professionally with a customized intern curriculum
  • Build a network of peers and mentors in a business to business sales environment
  • Gain exposure to products and services within Group Benefits
  • Participate in social activities and networking events
  • Interview for a sales trainee position upon completion of the program.

The expected salary range for this position is $24/Hour.
