Job summary

Lewis Tree Service is hiring a Groundperson to work outdoors across multiple job sites in Florida. You’ll clear vegetation around power lines, operate chainsaws and sprayers, and support climbers by spotting and handing up tools.

Expect frequent travel, safety briefings, and opportunities for industry certifications. Competitive pay with an ESOP and paid training are offered by a leading North American vegetation management company.

Qualifications

• Groundperson certification (or ability to complete).
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions; ability to hike, lift 50 lbs, and handle tools; valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).
• CPR/First Aid certification provided by Lewis; herbicide applicator certification (or ability to complete) and strong work ethic.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable state, local, and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Clear vegetation and debris from work sites around power lines (e.g., pruning, removal).
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, blowers, and sprayers.
• Assist climbers by spotting from ground and handing up tools.
• Assist with rigging and felling of trees.
• Maintain safe work areas and protect teammates and the public from hazards.
