Job summary

CRH/APAC Central Inc. is hiring a Lube Technician / Ground Person to support preventative maintenance and daily plant operations in a safety-focused team.

You will apply lubricants, inspect equipment, report issues, operate a skid steer, and assist with housekeeping and repairs while adhering to safety procedures in outdoor plant environments. This hands-on role offers growth in maintenance skills and dependable teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with lubrication and basic maintenance is a plus.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to operate basic plant equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Apply lubricants to bearings and plant components to prevent wear.
• Perform visual equipment inspections and note maintenance needs.
• Communicate inspection findings and suggest repairs.
• Operate a skid steer and other assigned equipment safely.
• Wash and maintain plant areas for safety and housekeeping.
• Assist with maintenance tasks and general labor as needed.

What You’ll Do

• Apply lubricants to conveyor bearings, crushing equipment bearings, and other plant components to help prevent premature wear and support reliable equipment performance.
• Perform thorough visual inspections of equipment and plant areas, including checking for leaks, wear, or other maintenance concerns.
• Communicate inspection findings and recommend additional servicing or repairs when needed.
• Operate a skid steer and other assigned equipment safely and responsibly.
• Wash down and maintain plant areas to support housekeeping, safety, and production standards.
• Assist with plant maintenance tasks, repairs, and general labor as needed.
• Follow company safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized, and team-oriented work environment.

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safe work practices.
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to manage time effectively and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
• Problem-solving skills and willingness to identify maintenance needs before they become larger issues.
• Clear communication skills and a team-first attitude.
• Previous experience in plant operations, maintenance, lubrication, heavy equipment, aggregates, construction, or industrial work is helpful but not required.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Frequently required to climb, balance, and perform tasks involving physical agility.
• Regularly sit, climb, and use hand signals or equipment; occasionally stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, or reach above shoulder height.
• Lift and move objects weighing up to 25-50 lbs as needed.
• Work primarily outdoors, often in extreme weather and environmental conditions.
• Comfortable working in all weather conditions; exposed to jobsite hazards such as moving machinery, high places, airborne particles, and loud environments.
• Must have specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, to operate equipment safely.
