Position Description

Position Summary

Perform basic grounds maintenance including mowing, weeding, trimming, pruning, tree removal, and general clean-up.

Education Required

High school diploma or equivalent; valid PA Driver's License

Experience Required

2 years of grounds maintenance experience

Skills, Characteristics Required

• Knowledge of grounds maintenance procedures: tree pruning, mowing, mulching, edging beds, blowing, weeding, use of backpack sprayer.
• Ability to operate grounds equipment: tractor, mower, gator, weed whip, chain saw, leaf blower.
• Self-motivated team player with supervisory abilities.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills including campus email and relevant software.

Special Working Conditions

Must be physically capable of performing all essential functions, including lifting 75 lbs, working outdoors in all weather, and responding to emergencies. May be responsible for snow removal.

Driving Requirements

Must operate college-owned vehicles, possess a valid driver’s license, and comply with the Fleet Vehicle Use Policy.

Essential Employee Duties

• Routine grounds maintenance and seasonal tasks.
• Storm drain system maintenance.
• Campus cleanliness and snow removal.
• Trash patrol and event support.
• Maintain attendance.

Secondary Duties

• Assist Central Receiving and other departments.
• Move and set up items as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
