Job summary

The University of Georgia in Athens is seeking a Grounds Keeper III to operate major equipment and supervise crews to coordinate daily tasks across campus grounds.

You will ensure equipment is properly serviced, enforce PPE safety standards, assist with herbicide applications and irrigation system maintenance, and respond to grounds emergencies to keep the campus safe and well-maintained.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 5 years of related grounds maintenance experience.
• Ability to operate a wide range of grounds equipment.
• Knowledge of plant identification and turf management.

Responsibilities

• Operate major grounds equipment such as sprayers, edgers, weed eaters, blowers, mowers, dump trucks, aerators, leaf trucks, and tractors.
• Lead crews and coordinate daily assignments.
• Weed control in landscape beds.
• Oversee maintenance and repair of crew equipment.
• Promote PPE safety and proper gear usage.
• Report irrigation issues and coordinate repairs.
• Assist in addressing grounds emergencies.
