Job summary

St. Joseph's/Candler is seeking a Grounds Maintenance professional to upkeep hospital grounds and maintain an attractive and healthy environment. Responsibilities include mowing, trimming, planting, fertilizing, watering, irrigation work, and general upkeep while safely using equipment and PPE.

The role emphasizes safe handling of chemicals per MSDS, following best practices, and supporting the Property Maintenance Manager in planning and completing tasks on schedule.

Qualifications

• Grounds maintenance experience preferred (2-3 years).
• Familiarity with mowing, trimming, planting, fertilizing, watering, and irrigation tasks.
• Ability to read MSDS guidelines and operate safely.

Responsibilities

• Operates powered maintenance equipment in a safe manner wearing the proper PPE and is conscious of patients/visitors/co-workers at all times.
• Selects proper chemical for each application while using PPE; follows MSDS guidelines and Best Management Practices.
• Assist Property Maintenance Manager in planning, organizing, and completion of grounds maintenance; completes tasks based on established routines and deadlines.
• Resolves Work Orders and concerns in a safe and timely manner.
• Identifies concerns, damage, or improvements that may be needed and makes recommendations to Ground Property Maintenance Manager to improve efficiency, quality and safety.

• Responsible for performing varied task for the upkeep and care of hospital grounds. Landscapes and maintains property to an attractive and healthy environment. Position includes the following task, but not limited to a combination of: Mowing, trimming, planting, fertilizing, watering, sod laying, digging, raking, sprinkler/irrigation installation, trash/debris clean-up, painting and pressure washing.
