Job description

Under general supervision, the Groundskeeper performs a variety of strenuous unskilled or semi-skilled work to maintain Community buildings and grounds. Must have the ability to work in extreme weather conditions and on-call shifts.
Work experience equivalent to six months full-time general grounds maintenance or closely related work. Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license throughout employment and meet the Community’s insurance requirements. Must successfully pass a background check.

Additional Requirements:
Must be able to lift a minimum of 100 lbs., work in extreme weather conditions, and work on-call shifts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Mows grass, trims plants/shrubs, and prunes bushes and trees, including operating equipment such as riding lawn mowers, tractor gang mowers, weed-eaters, chain saws, and trucks.
2. Maintains gravesites and cemetery grounds.
3. Assists with burial site preparations.
4. Performs minor maintenance and repairs on equipment.
5. Performs manual labor related to landscape maintenance, trash pickup, and debris removal.
6. Assists at special events by setting up equipment, tables, chairs, and cleaning up.
7. Performs mosquito fogging.
8. Maintains roads, addressing potholes, applying sealant, and asphalt.
9. Maintains airport taxiways and runways.
10. Operates medium construction equipment such as backhoes, front-end loaders, and dump trucks as needed.
11. Performs other related duties as assigned.
