Responsibilities

• Cuts lawns, trims edges, prunes shrubs; operates a mower.
• Plows snow with trucks/tractors; spreads salt or grit.
• Performs light maintenance on equipment (oil changes, belts, tires).
• Sets up and maintains district sports fields; performs painting/caulking as needed.
• Delivers inter-school mail and items between buildings.
• Empties outdoor trash; cleans stadium after home games; prepares storage shed.
• Assists with school bus prep for MN DOT inspection; drives bus when needed.
• Performs other duties of a comparable level as required.

Schedule: 7:00AM- 3:30PM (Monday - Friday). Hours may vary upon seasonal needs

Salary: Range III, SEIU Local 284 contract(starting $20.13/hour)

Job Summary

The groundskeeper is responsible for assisting in maintaining the district's grounds, playground equipment, sport fields, vehicles and parking lots. Seasonally perform mowing equipment, snow plowing and delivery services.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Cuts lawns, trims and edges around walks, fences, and walls, prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches, or twigs. Operates a 6-16' tractor mower for most lawn cutting jobs.
2. Plow snow with truck, tractor, bobcat or tractor broom in winter months. Spread salt and/or grit as required. Shovel snow from doorways and smaller spaces.
3. Perform light maintenance of equipment used, including mowers, tractors and other equipment, including but not limited to oil changes, belts, tires and .
4. Setup and maintain all district sports fields, including painting/caulking as needed.
5. Deliver inter-school mail and building to building deliveries, which may include furniture, books, food or cleaning equipment.
6. Empty all outside garbage cans around the district. Clean the football stadium following all home games. Clean storage shed and prepare it for seasonal changes.
7. Assist with preparation of the school buses for the annual inspection by the MN Department of Transportation. Drive school bus when needed.
8. Performs other duties of a comparable level/type, as required.

Qualifications

• Able to lift up to 25pounds continuously, 50pounds frequently and 100pounds occasionally
• Able to walk continuously and stand frequently

Required Qualifications

• Valid Minnesota Commercial Driver's License with school bus and passenger endorsement.
