Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking a dependable custodian responsible for cleaning and maintaining indoor and outdoor areas within assigned buildings. The role includes reporting to a supervisor, complying with safety protocols, and performing a range of cleaning tasks to maintain high standards of cleanliness.

The position requires effective communication, reliability, and the ability to work flexible hours including weekends. Prior custodial experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs cleaning and maintenance duties such as sweeping, mopping, shampooing, dusting, polishing and trash disposal.
• Replaces light bulbs and cleans windows.
• Informs Supervisor when supplies are needed.
• Maintains cleaning solutions per OSHA hazardous chemicals rules.
• Removes trash and assists with emergency cleaning.
• Operates equipment safely following procedures.
• Maintains friendly, professional attitude with residents and staff.
• Keeps sanitary supplies stocked in assigned areas.
• Inspects areas for faulty equipment or processes and reports issues.
• Ensures security procedures are followed at all times.
• Furnishes and maintains floors as required.
• Completes daily work orders as scheduled.
• Maintains equipment in good working condition.
• Cleans restrooms: floors, dispensers, toilets, sinks, mirrors, counters; empties trash.
• Assists in navigating buildings to meet job functions.
• Lifts up to 50 lbs and works in varying environmental conditions.
• Responds promptly to emergencies and climbs ladders as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for cleaning projects requiring advanced training and demonstrated skill. Inspacts

Work performed in assigned building/ property (s) and submits reports to the Supervisor. Positions may be indoors to maintain the interior of the community, outdoors to maintain the exterior, or maintenance of both.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs a variety of cleaning/maintained duties as assigned including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, shampooing, dusting, polishing, trash disposal, replacement light bulbs and window cleaning.

Informs Supervisor of needed supplies.

Maintains all cleaning solutions in accordance with OSHA requirements for hazardous chemicals.

Removes trash from premises and assists in emergency cleaning.

Ability to properly utilize equipment and follow safety procedures prior to using this equipment.

Maintains friendly and professional attitude.

Responsible for maintaining appropriate levels of sanitary and cleaning supplies for assigned areas.

Inspects all assigned areas for faulty or defective equipment, or processes to resolve problems.

Ensure that security procedures are adhered to at all times.

Ensures all safety precautions are followed while performing work.

Maintains working relationship with building staff.

Furnishes and burnsish floors as required.

Completes daily work orders as scheduled.

Responsible for maintaining appropriate levels of sanitary and cleaning supplies for assigned areas.

Maintains assigned equipment in good working condition.

As applicable, cleans restrooms: Sweeps and mops floors. Refills all dispensers such as hand towels, soap, etc. Cleans toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors and counters. Empty/ removes trash. Reports any discrepancies to supervisor.

Ability to properly utilize equipment and follow safety procedures prior to using this equipment.

Schedule; Saturday & Sunday 7am-3pm Monday & Tuesday 11pm-7am Wednesday & Thursday OFF Friday 3pm-7am

Pay rate: 17$

OPERATION SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES

Education/Training

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience/Knowledge/Abilities

Previous custodial experience referred.

Effective communication skills.

Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required.

Special Requirements

Ability to lift 50 lbs following appropriate safety procedures;

Work in an upright standing position for long periods of time;

Crawl in small and tightly spaces; Ability to work in different environmental working conditions (e.g. heat, cold, wind, rain);

Walk and climb stairs; Handle, finger,graasp and feee objects and equipment;

Reach with hands and arms;

Ability quickly and easily navigate the proper/buildings as required to meet the job functions;

Repeat various motions with the wrists, hands and fingers;

Complete all required forms.

Ability to respond to emergencies immediately.

Climb ladders and work at heights above ground level (maximum 3 ft).
