Job summary

St. Leonard in Dayton, Ohio, is seeking a dedicated Groundskeeper for a full-time position on our 240-acre campus supporting grounds maintenance, gardens, walks and roads to keep them safe and inviting.

The role requires operating mowing and landscape equipment, routine maintenance of facilities, and participation in snow/ice removal during winter. Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Responsibilities

• Operates mowing, trimming, pruning, planting, and spraying grass, trees, and shrubs.
• Maintains roads, walks and outdoor lighting in safe condition and free of hazards.
• Performs routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and vehicles, with proper documentation.
• Completes tasks from work orders related to the grounds and landscape.
• Participates in various indoor maintenance tasks and projects.

Wage range: $17-$20/hr., depending on experience

Job Summary:

The Groundskeeper is required to perform all tasks required to maintain the grounds, gardens, walks, and roads in a safe, appealing condition. All Grounds staff is on-call for snow and ice removal in the winter.

Essential Job Specific Duties/Responsibilities:

• Operates all equipment necessary to mow, trim, prune, plant, and spray grass, trees and shrubbery.
• Maintains all roads, walks, and outdoor lighting in safe working condition and free of hazards.
• Performs routine maintenance and repairs on all equipment and vehicles, along completing with appropriate documentation.
• Performs a variety of tasks assigned by work orders that relate to the grounds and landscape.
• Takes part in a variety of inside maintenance tasks and projects.
