Job summary

AJANTA CONSULTING, LLC in Sardis, MS is seeking a Laborer, Grounds Maintenance to support the upkeep of industrial and public properties. You will cut grass, trim hedges, spray lawn care products, and assist with general maintenance tasks while following safety guidelines.

Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license or CDL, and at least 3 years of prior manual labor experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid state driver license OR Commercial license (CDL).
• Minimum three (3) years prior experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use of a variety of hand tools to spread dirt, gravel, or sand; dig holes and trenches; dress excavated areas; erect signs and guard rails; cutting trees, shrubs, grass, weeds, and other vegetation; and cleaning structures and equipment.
• Lift and/or carrying of heavy objects such as riprap stone, boxes, and machinery weighing up to 80 pounds.
• Assist higher skilled personnel by carrying materials and supplies, building simple objects and forms, and performing heavy manual labor as required.
• Use of hand tools common to manual labor such as picks, shovels, tamps, wheelbarrows, chainsaws, rakes, and brooms.
• Cleaning of equipment, buildings, recreation facilities, structures, and grounds.
• Maintain and repair fencing including chain link and barbed wire.
• Ensure work orders are properly filled out and returned to work management.
• Support the project Safety Plan through active participation in safety training and compliance.
• This position is Mission Critical for safety and security during lockdown conditions.
• May be part of an emergency management/response team as required by the company.
• Operate all equipment in accordance with EM 385-1-1.
• Other duties as assigned
