Job summary

Trinity River Authority of Texas seeks an entry-level Maintenance Mechanic to perform grounds maintenance and assist with basic repairs on buildings and equipment. You will work under direct supervision with instruction and support from more senior staff.

Eligible candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and a valid Texas driver’s license. The role includes exposure to weather and various hazards as part of daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to understand and follow written or oral instructions.
• Reads and interprets operation manuals and safety data sheets.
• Education: high school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs general maintenance to grounds including mowing, edging, weedeating, tree trimming, seeding, digging, trash pickup, and operation of related equipment.
• Assists with routine preventive maintenance and repairs for buildings, machinery and equipment (motors, pumps, vehicles, tractors, mowers, plumbing).
• Assists with carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, and welding as assigned.
• Follows supervision and standard procedures; reports to supervisor or senior staff as needed.
